"Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise."
Psalm 98:4
If you've followed our blog for very long, you probably remember me mentioning the music of Blind Pig and the Acorn. Kevin found their YouTube Channel several years ago, and we instantly became fans of their music. I have been a subscriber to Tipper's Blog for many years, also, and we were so blessed to get to meet and hear them in person a couple of times. I can tell you that they are every bit as sweet, genuine, and down-to-earth in person as they seem on their videos.
When Kevin first discovered their music, it was mainly comprised of Tipper's brother, Paul Wilson; (you can read our exclusive interview with Paul by clicking here), their Dad, Jerry Wilson aka "Pap;" and Tipper playing bass. Over the years as they grew up, Tipper's twin girls, Corie and Katie Pressley became more of a part of the family's music, and they have developed into their own act and have a CD of their very own called "When it Ends in a Walk." Their tight family harmony will warm your heart and encourage your soul.

There is a Time ~ The Pressley Girls
As you know, all concerts and gatherings have been cancelled due to the coronavirus. Artists who depend on the income from their shows and events have lost that source of income during this pandemic, and CD sales are even more important these days!
If you aren't one of the blessed winners, you can purchase the Pressley Girls' CD in their Etsy Shop.
Please stop by and visit their YouTube channel or connect with them on Facebook.
You can also visit them at their Pressley Girls Website.
God bless each one of you dear readers and keep you safe and healthy continually, in Jesus' name.

DeleteCheryl, how many people do you know girl? You amaze me with all the talent you know. My fatherinlaw loves him some bluegrass too. He and my sweet motherinlove as I called her used to go to bluegrass shows all the time especially if they were gospel. I hope you are doing well Cheryl. Hugs and blessings to you dear lady. Cindy
ReplyDeleteLOL! I would have to sit and count them all! God has been so gracious to bring many wonderful people across our path. When we started praying the prayer of Jabez for God to "enlarge our coast," we have surely seen Him do just that! Oh, my, we love bluegrass, too. Kevin and I were raised on it. We are doing well, praise the Lord, and I surely hope you and your sweet family are staying safe and healthy, too! Many hugs and blessings back to you today, my friend!
DeletePlease don't enter me as I am not from the USA but just wanted to say what a wonderful giveaway.

DeleteThe "Pressley Girls" are now Women. Jimmie Rogers wrote a song; "Women Make a Fool Out of Me." I have followed them for years now. Makes my day to hear the music. I would to hear more Stanley Brothers songs. You two are delightful at any age or label. Do you do "Ripple?" or any Grateful Dead songs? Truckin? Keep on!
ReplyDeleteYes, you are right! They grew up fast, it seems. How neat that you have followed them for years ~ so you have watched them grow up! Oh, man - we love the Stanley Brothers, too! I hope they do some of their songs sometime. I'm not sure if they do the songs you mentioned, but whatever they sing will be amazing! Thank you for your visit and kind words!
DeleteTipper and I became blog friends many years ago. Then we became students at John C. Campbell Folk School. We have since shared many great memories, meals, and visits with her, and the girls!

DeleteSuch beautiful voices Tipper and her family have! I love the song that you shared above. You are so generous with the giveaway, but please don't include me as I was a previous winner of a giveaway you did :) Many sweet blessings to you dear friend!
ReplyDeleteThey surely do sing so pretty, and I always love seeing they have uploaded a new video to youtube. I love that song, too. They sing some wonderful songs and they write a lot of their songs, too. I absolutely WILL include you for the giveaway! LOL! There is no rule that says you can't win twice!! And, if you do win, you will know that we were 100% fair. The wheel decides for us, so it is really out of our hands. (HUGE smile!) Many blessings and much love to you today!
DeleteThey are a talented duo. I've heard about them from my son who is a young multi-instrumentalist and bluegrass lover. I happened upon this blog post after watching part of an IG live with the Pressley girls and my son Gunnar Salyer. So I'll comment and maybe win a CD! I'm in Mozambique, but my 2 oldest sons are currently in Texas for an indefinite amount of time.
ReplyDeleteOh, wow, how neat! We all love bluegrass around here, too, and both my husband and I were raised on it. There is no better music than bluegrass - wait is there ANY other kind of music? LOL! I loved reading your comment. If you win, we can certainly mail the CD to one of your sons in Texas, if that is okay? May God bless you and keep you safe always.
