"I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust."
Psalm 91:2
Who would ever have thought that the buzz words for 2020 would be "social distancing" and "toilet paper."
These are trying times and it's understandable to be fearful and anxious. I've had my share of anxiety lately. As a result I've had to daily remind myself of the scriptures:
1 Peter 5:7- "Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you."
Philippians 4:6 "Be careful (anxious) for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be be made known unto God. (Parenthesis mine)
Earlier this week, we needed to go to the grocery store, but I was feeling anxious about going and not being able to find what I need. I never get anxious about shopping. In fact, I love grocery shopping and running into folks I know in our small town.
When we got into the car, I told my husband Tim about my anxiety and asked him to please pray. By the time we arrived at Safeway my anxiety was gone. The shopping trip turned out to be very nice and we had pleasant conversations with various workers and other shoppers.
There is a song I'd like to share with you all called, "God Will Take Care of You" sung by The Antrim Mennonite Choir.
God Will Take Care of You
God Will Take Care of You
My dear friends, God will take care of us! We have nothing to fear, and when fear and anxiety threaten to overcome us, let's turn to our heavenly Father who is there for us and will bring us through this time of uncertainty.
Oh in case you were wondering, I got everything on my list. Except toilet paper.

Thank you for sharing Regina's words here, Cheryl! I love that hymn, and really needed to listen to it tonight. And you are so right, Regina, we often worry ahead of time, but God always takes care of us when the time comes to walk through the hard places. Blessings to both of you!
ReplyDeleteRegina encouraged me so much, too. I love that hymn, and I sat and listened to it twice when Regina sent it to me. I, too needed it so much. Many blessings and much love back to you, sweet friend!
DeleteThank you Bettie and Cheryl. That song blessed me the first time I heard it and the words are so true!
DeleteRegina! It was so good to see you post here on Cheryl's blog and read about your trip to the grocery store. I have to make a trip on a small errand tomorrow morning and was beginning to be very anxious about leaving the house. Your post helped me so much sweet sister. I love that hymn and just heard it sung earlier today on a utube video.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Regina's post helped me, too, Betsy. She gives us courage and helps us to know where to turn in our times of panic. I love that song, too, and have listened to it multiple times since she sent it to me. Much love and many blessings to you, too, sweet friend.
DeleteThank you Betsy and Cheryl! I love listening to Antrim Mennonite Choir so I hope you two will listen to more of their music. God is our shelter and He will meet our needs.
DeletePraise the Lord! The peace of prayer...you asked your husband to do the best thing, pray.
ReplyDeleteOur Great God will most certainly take care of us, He cares for His own, even in the little details of life.
Thank you Regina, for sharing with us.
I'm going out today to shop for some elderly people who do not wish to go out as our county is a red hot spot. We have a high number of cases just in our county alone.
Keep looking to Jesus!
That is so sweet of you to do, Debbie. I heard of some young people in NY who have set up a service like this. SO inspiring to see how everyone is rallying to help those who are less able to do for themselves. God bless your every effort!
DeleteHi Debbie! You're a sweetie to do that. Our county has had a low number of cases but in the Phoenix area which I believe is Maricopa County ( we are in Yavapai County) it has the highest number of cases. Do be careful out there!
DeleteRegina, you stopped and prayed when you felt anxious and that is key. Good for you and Tim. I've had pleasant encounters mostly shopping but one gal was very sarcastic to me. I'm not offended; fear masquerades as sarcasm. So I prayed for her on the way home. Do you think God is taking our prayers and making them more effective now? I do. God's blessings to you Regina and you, Cheryl.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is really a good way to look at it - fear masquerades as sarcasm. It is wonderful that you were the bigger person and didn't let her get to you. YES, I surely agree with you that God is absolutely answering our prayers and making them more effective. Many blessings to you, too, sweet friend!
DeleteThank you sis! It's sad people have to be unkind. God is so good though. Blessings to you and yours.
DeleteCheryl, I never thought about that but I believe that person must have been fearful. Such a sad world we live in.
DeleteThat is such a beautiful hymn, and I'm thankful the Lord answered your prayer on the way to the grocery store. He is faithful in every little circumstance! Thank you for this encouraging post :)
ReplyDeleteOh, He surely is so faithful to us in all circumstances! Thank you for your sweet visit and kind words, dear friend!
DeleteHi Marilyn! I try to stay calm at times but I do get anxious and then that hymn comes to mind. As well as other hymns and of course the Word of God.
DeleteBlessings to you!
God will take care of us, Regina! Thank you for your words of inspiration here, and thanks, Cheryl, for hosting such a wonderful Christian writer.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Thank you so much, Martha, for your encouraging, kind words! God bless you!
DeleteThank you Martha referring to me as a wonderful Christian rider makes me turn red and if you see my picture, thats hard to do.😀😀😀😀
DeleteI'm glad you were blessed!
Hi Regina, loving your hymn choice ..and yes the dear LORD is faithful to answer our smallest prayers, I need a certain toilet paper, and am grateful the LORD miraculously had me buy a really big lot before all this kafuffle! It’s a funny old world, but the LORD knows sees our smallest need!
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a blessing, and may God bless you too, especially in these troubled times, may we look up in faith! Praying you’re all kept well too!

Thank you Shad. I'm grateful the Lord provided for you. These are troubled times but God is still on the throne and in control.
DeleteBlessings!
That is wonderful how the Lord prompted you to buy extra before this happened. He knows the future, and what a comfort that is to know!
DeleteYes, God will take care of us. Thank you Regina for sharing scripture and encouragement in these unusual times. We don’t have to fear because God holds the universe in His hands! Thank you Cheryl for sharing Regina with us.
ReplyDeleteThank you Pam! I just remembered a song called He Got the Whole World in His Hands. I heard for the first time as a child on Sesame Street and it was sung by Mahalia Jackson. It's as comforting now as it was back then. Hard to believe now that is was sung on Sesame Street.
DeleteThank you, Pam, for your sweet visit, kind words, and faithful support of this blog! Many blessings to you today!
DeleteThank you Cheryl posting my guest post. It was an encouragement for me to write it.☺
ReplyDeleteYou are so welcome, Regina! I am so thankful God led you to participate. You are a dear blessing to us all!
