"O our God, wilt Thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon Thee."
2 Chronicles 20:12
(KJV)
I just have no words to express the deep gratitude in our hearts to all of you who have prayed,
sent individual emails, called, and left such precious comments here at the blog,
since I sent out a plea for prayer for my dear niece, Kristen.
since I sent out a plea for prayer for my dear niece, Kristen.
I am overwhelmed by your love, compassion, and concern.
The love of God shines so sweetly through each one of you,
and I just love and appreciate all of you so much!
May God bless and reward you for the kindness you are showing to us,
and I humbly ask that you please, please keep the prayers going up!
As Jehoshaphat prayed in the above verse, in times like these, we truly do not know what to do.
It feels like our hands are tied.
Humanly, we have no way of changing what is going on,
but, I praise God that our hope is not in our own humanity.
I love the way Jehoshaphat prayed, and I have often prayed the same words,
but, I praise God that our hope is not in our own humanity.
I love the way Jehoshaphat prayed, and I have often prayed the same words,
"...neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon Thee."
In times like these, we truly have to will ourselves to elevate our focus from the situation at hand,
high above the fear, anxiety, and worry, up to the throne of grace, wherein lies our source of help and hope.
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."
Psalm 46:1
I want to take this opportunity to praise our wonderful Lord for all He is doing for dear Kristen and her precious unborn baby.
Yesterday, she was admitted to the hospital, after collapsing due to having a blood clot in her lung, and she was started on a blood thinner that the doctors felt was safe for her to take in her condition.
Today, they realized they had made a mistake, and she should never have been put on that particular medicine during her first trimester of pregnancy.
They changed her medication and are hoping the blood clot will dissolve.
Though the medical professionals continue to make missteps in Kristen's care,
we know it is God Who is in complete control, and our eyes remain steady upon Him and His power to do "exceeding abundantly above all we can ask or think..."
Ephesians 3:20
There are a couple of things for which I want to give special praise today.
#1
After studying Kristen's case, the hematologist feels that the blood clot is in an area of the lung that is "enmeshed", and he does not feel that the blood clot will travel anywhere else!
While we are keeping in mind that we were already inaccurately told that the blood clot was superficial and would never travel anywhere else from its original site in her arm (caused from the improper handling of an ER IV), that it would "just dissolve on its own", and we realize now, with certainty, that it did travel up her arm and end up in her lung, we are still praising God that the doctor feels it will not travel anywhere else from this point.
Doctors are not God.
They can only do so much.
They, quite obviously, make mistakes and are human,
and, to be honest, I don't put a whole lot of stock in what we are being told,
but we are believing God to allow the blood clot to stay where it is and to be dissolved completely.

Yesterday, when they attached a fetal monitor to keep track of the baby's health,
the nurse tried, repeatedly, to allow Kristen to hear the heartbeat, and she was never able to.
The nurse did, however, say that the monitor was picking up a heartbeat, but it could not be audibly heard, which brought a level of comfort.
Today, they did an ultrasound, and PRAISE GOD,
the baby's heart rate was 159 beats per minute STRONG!!!!
And, Kristen was able to see its little hands moving!
All glory be to God!!
It just blessed me so much to hear this wonderful news, and it comforts me deeply to know that our God's eyes are upon my precious niece and her unborn baby!
I look forward to posting more great news, as God continues to perform this miracle in our lives!
"And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us: And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him."
I John 5:14,15

DeleteWow, thank you for sharing the great news! I am so sorry the medical staff seems to keep messing up....that's so disheartening. But I'm trusting God for miracleS (hee, hee...) and am still praying!
ReplyDeleteP.S. when I was in the hospital repeatedly during my last pregnancy, scared out of my mind, I kept singing that song you posted, over and over again! Maybe we should rename it "the baby song", lol.
It is quite disheartening, but our God NEVER messes up, and HE is the One in Whom we are putting our trust!! Praise His name, He does a perfect work every time. That is so neat that you sang that same song over and over. Yes, maybe we should rename it! I am believing along with you for YOUR miracleS, too, sweet friend!!!
