Third Update on Kristen - Please Keep Praying!!

"And He spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint..."
Luke 18:1
(KJV)

How we praise God that my dear niece is home from the hospital!
We just cannot praise Him enough for all He has done, is doing, and still going to do for her.
They did another ultrasound, and they said the little guy is VERY active and that he seemed as happy as a clam!!
Oh, it was SO good to hear that!
Praise our dear, awesome, loving GOD!!

There are still major concerns, obviously, and a couple of things I would like to ask you to continue
to pray about.

Her doctor told her today that she is not out of the woods,
and, in spite of her already being told the blood clot is "enmeshed" and not likely to travel anywhere else, there is, in fact, a chance that it could move from the lung to the brain.
This news was so unsettling, disappointing, and, needless to say, terrifying.
It is hard to imagine her having to walk through fear each day of the remainder of her pregnancy.

She also found out that the blood thinner takes from six to seven months to work,
so she will need to stay on it via self-injections twice daily.
There is an underlying concern, obviously, of what this could do to the baby,
and all of this is laying heavy upon her heart.

We would so appreciate your continued prayers, dear friends.

We are SO grateful to God for you and for every prayer you are praying on her behalf.
We know GOD can do exceeding abundantly above all we can ask or think,
and we are expecting Him to continue to heal and dissolve this blood clot
(even quicker than the doctors are telling her),
and that He will spare Kristen and the precious baby boy's lives.

I can't wait for the day that we can just praise Him together as we announce
the smooth delivery of a perfectly healthy baby boy!!
What joy will fill all of our hearts when the trial is past and the welcome sounds of a newborn
baby's cries ring out in Kristen and Mike's home!

God is in control.
Of this, we are certain.
In times like these, my mind often goes to the words of this dear, old hymn written by Edward Mote.

My Hope Is Built

My hope is built on nothing less,
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus' name.

On Christ, the solid rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

His oath, His covenant, His blood
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
O, may I then in Him be found,
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

God is surely our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble!
How we praise Him for all He has already done!
May He bless each one of you and meet any needs you have.
He is a faithful God!

  5. My favorite verse. Psalms 46:1.. [that you quoted].. I love that "very present'.. which means to me, right now He is with me, not in a little while..Oh what a Lord we have.
    Praying for Kristen and baby boy.. Will continue to pray.

    1. Yes, He is able! It reminds me of that old song, "He's able, He's able, I know He is able, I know my Lord is able to carry me through". I hadn't thought of that song in years. Thank you, dear Ruth, and I went over and read your post. It was SO encouraging...yes, we surely learn to grow and learn who God really is, in the wilderness. Your prayers mean SO much to us! God bless you abundantly for being so kind!

    1. I know what you mean, brother. I am so thankful GOD is the One who is in control...these doctors...one tells you one thing, then another comes right behind that one and tells you something opposite. But, praise God, our trust is not in them, but in our dear Father. Bless you for being so kind and standing by us the way you do, Floyd. You are such a blessing to us.

  9. Oh my. When you used the word "terrifying" it certainly articulates the situation exactly. I can't even imagine, but God...

    Oh I am fervently praying and trusting that God will dissolve the clot very soon and leave the doctor's scratching their heads. Oh what a God glorifying moment that WILL be! I am also praying that the God of peace blesses Kristen and all that care deeply for her with the peace that surpasses all understanding.

    Blessings sweet friend.

  10. Dear Cheryl,
    This situation is so near and dear to my heart...having experienced the birth of our first grandchild (grandson) just two short months ago. Precious little lives...so fragile and delicate...knowing that He is in control...

    So I will join in with all the tenderhearted folks holding mama and "little man" up to Him in prayer and thanksgiving for what He has already done.

    Sweet blessings to you, dear one,
    Laura
